On October 10, 2009, a solemn ceremony to announce the National Tourism Year 2010 and the celebration of 1,000 year founding anniversary of Thang Long - Ha Noi was organized at the Ly Thai To Flower Garden, Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi City. To provide more information on preparatory activities and tourism development opportunities for Ha Noi in particular and Vietnam in general, the Vietnam Business Forum has a talk with Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Vu Quyet Thang, Derector of Hoangviet Travel Joint Stock Company and Ms Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, PR Manager of FIDITOUR Travel Joint Stock Company.

ASEAN Tourism Forum:ATF is the most important and the largest-scale activity in the ASEAN tourism cooperation framework. This is a big event of political, economic and social significances; a collective initiative aiming at turning ASEAN into an united tourist destination and at sustainable tourism development, thus contributing to visitor exchanges, friendly cooperation, cultural exchanges, peace and prosperity development in the region.

The 2009 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF 2009) and ASEAN Tourism Ministers' Meeting will take place in Ha Noi from January 5-12, 2009.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh has attended the 27 th ASEAN Tourism Forum 2008 that was held in Bangkok , Thailand , from Jan. 21-24.
