International Travel Expo 2009 - ITE 2009

The 5th International Travel Expo (Ho Chi Minh City) showcases Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in “Three Countries One Destination” concept.

The 5th International Travel Expo is held in Ho Chi Minh City this year (ITE HCMC). ITE HCMC provides an excellent platform for both international and local participants to showcase a diverse range of tourism products and services from all three countries.

The theme of this year’s ITE HCMC is “Gap go in another world” means “to meet in another world”. At the 3rd ITE HCMC in 2007, tourism ministers of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos signed a joint declaration to accelerate mutual tourism cooperation via multi-pronged action plans to promote the three countries in an integrated tourism offering: traversing the potential of multiple World Heritage Sites present in all three countries. The cooperation builds upon the three nations’ shared yet diverse cultural and scenic features to pave the way for sustainable tourism development of the region.

The unique “Three Countries One Destination” concept (3CODe) has seen much enthusiastic response and support and this is in turn, carefully managed and organised by four bodies. They are the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the Ho Chi Minh Department of Culture, Sports and

Tourism (DCST), the Vietnam Trade Fair & Advertising Joint Stock Company (VINEXAD) and IIR Exhibitions Pte Ltd (IIR). ITE HCMC is supported by the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and co-supported by the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia and Laos National Tourism. With more than 150 international buyers and 300 sellers, both local and international, the ITE HCMC offers an effective

mix of participating portfolios with attendant regulars coming from Australia, the United States of America, England, Germany, Russia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.

ASEAN Travel Fair 2009 - ATF 09

The Travel Fair (Travex 2009) will take place January 10-12 at the Vietnam Fair and Exhibition Center. This is an important segment of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2009 (ATF 2009).

The fair will include 400-500 standard booths of national tourism organizations, travel companies, tour operators, hotels, airlines, tourism-related associations and more.

The organizers say that Travex will be a place where service providers, tour agents, travel companies and tour purchasers will meet and make business contacts. To attract tourists from major markets, tour buyers from North America, Europe, Northeast Asia and Australia have been invited to attend the fair./.
